In the polymer PFA, a perfluoroalkoxy group is added to the polymer chain, which is an even greater change. Typically, a perfluoropropyl group is added.
Another group is a perfluoromethyl vinyl ether, which produces the polymer MFA. The large pendant group added further reduces the crystallinity and, depending on the molecular weight, strongly influences the melt viscosity.
